MITIGATION

Right now we are waiting for approval of our mitigation plan, Which if looked up in the dictionary SHOULD be defined as: Government theft of personal property through the use of militant communist style tactics.  Someday when this is all over, I plan to name names and campaign to have people removed from their dictatorships. But for now I’m keeping my eye on the prize.

It took some time to choose a plan for our “remodel” but once we remembered the Maple Forest Cottage from the Home Time series, there was no doubt it was the right design for us.  I originally wanted to stick to the plan exactly, however with county regulations on everything from excavation to setbacks, I did make some changes, but I have a very long term plan to get most if not all of the original plan – minus the garage.  Here is the PHASE 1 drawing I have left the other section for PHASE 3. This current drawing shows the portion of the building I was required to leave to qualify as a remodel.

The long long road

We purchased our lake front property in the summer of 2008. It wasn’t easy to get a loan on this unusual place but our Quicken loan officer managed to navigate us through one of the worst times for getting new mortgages.
