The balcony has arrived and has been installed. I know it looks like it is taking over the front of the house, but I believe that when the wrap around railings are completed on the lower level, everything will work together. We are waiting for the curved planters, because we made a last minute change.

Last weekend we had Mike from MJH construction out to put the copper caps on our braces and wrap the beams that extend thru the outside of the house. Lynden sheet metal pre cut the pieces and Mike molded them to the shape of the beams and braces. We are very happy with the results.

The arched millwork for the main door, the master bedroom and the pantry window, have arrived. The finish carpenter is scheduled to be here at the end of the month.
We had a flood of mud and water come into the house this winter and had to have a number of areas repaired. We are back in business now and things should start rolling along again.

Our exterior lights arrived a few weeks ago. After months and months of ordering and returning samples from Flo at New Grand Light in Connecticut. we finally believe that we have matched the original MFC exterior lamps. We decided to get the 6″ for the main floor, but we added 2 7″ lamps for the Master window unit. We would have loved to have all 7″ lamps but the base would not fit onto the arch/brackets. Flo was great and we really appreciate her dedication.

We’ve been busy working on painting the out-side, insulation and drywall on the in=side. Now I am fully aware that the red paint on the eyebrow window, master window and Bird box’s is horrible. The color looks way different than it did on the little square in the fan deck, its the only one that I did not order a sample of, and boy am I sorry, we are considering other colors and will get it re=done as soon as we can agree. I wasn’t too worried about it before because I want to order the custom panel inserts (maybe next year), we just have other places to spend the money right now and paint is relatively inexpensive.

It is finally time to remove the shed that covers our septic field. The septic system has been refreshed with new sand and has two new larger tanks. This is probably the item that was most over budget of the entire project. So far we are at about 17,000. and I don’t think we are quite finished. Meanwhile we have been doing the demo and removal of the shed ourselves to save some money. We always planned to do this work ourselves, so it really doesn’t help us with the overages on the septic field. Here are some pictures of our progress…

The past month has brought very little change that can be measured in pictures. We had another electrical inspection, We have our first electrical outlets and switches, Still waiting for the health department to reissue our lost permit and Arroyo still has not sent our outdoor lanterns. The tubing for warm board is in and waiting to be connected to furnace/boiler that has yet to arrive….
In really fun good news, the art work that I ordered from Johnathan “the bearman” arrived and was installed by his son Jessie in a crazy 5 hour session. We are soo happy with i
